Course on Clinical Anatomy (Basic)

Background and facilities available
The department was established in 1925 and is presently headed by Dr.Lopa Mehta. The department has a rich source of cadavers and has an operating microscope. It is acquiring an endoscopy-training module. The department has staff members who are trained in Surgery and in Anatomy. Faculty is outsourced for training and demonstration in special areas.

Course Details -
The course is aimed at training doctors to apply anatomical knowledge to perform surgical procedures. There will be multi-media presentations, interactive sessions and hands-on training on techniques of handling instruments, techniques of suturing, central and peripheral venous access, tracheostomy and intercostal drainage

Interns and Junior Surgical Residents

Course Details -
The aim is to facilitate acquiring microsurgical skills and to familiarise one with the endoscopic anatomy using cadaver as a resource. There will be multi-media presentations and hands-on training on various endoscopic procedures and microsurgical procedures on cadavers

Course on Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) -

Background and Facilities available -
As has been mentioned earlier the rich source of cadavers gives an opportunity to offer training in simulated surgical procedures. This particular course has been successfully held for the past ten years with participation from overseas delegates also.
