Out Patient Department

The outpatient department ( OPD ) of Cardiology at the KEM hospital is one of the busiest in the city of Mumbai. Anually around 1.5 lakh patients are treated in the OPD department. There are two OPD rooms where the doctors cater to the patients. The OPD runs from morning 8 A.M to afternoon 1.30 P.M on Wednesday, Tuesday and Friday and from 1.30 P.M. to 5 P.M on Thursday. The Thursday OPD caters to only pediatric patients. There is also a separate OPD for Electrophysiology and Pacemaker patients on Mondays.

There are always 10 doctors, (3 consultants and 7 Junior doctors) and 4 staff nurses in the OPD at a time and all patients are carefully seen and treated. Patients are given some of the important drugs prescribed by the doctors. The OPD has the facility to take care of any emergency in case a patient becomes seriously ill.
