Training of Residents

The M.Ch. degree course is a three year course. It involves pre operative work-up in the out patient department as well as in the ward (15 admissions a week), assisting and operating cases (100 each), managing the patients post operatively (12 bedded dedicated ICU), participating in departmental teaching programme consisting of topic presentations, didactic lectures, journal club meetings, presenting papers at the national conference, participating in inter departmental meetings. The residents are rotated through departments of chest medicine, cardiology, radiology, oncology. The department has its own library with over 200 books on related subjects.
