Department has the following services to offer. |
a)
Medicolegal Autopsy services (round the clock)

b)
Clinical forensic medicine services.
|
c)
Medicolegal opinions in insurance matters.
|
d)
Medicolegal opinions in cases of alleged medical negligence and
related civil matters.
|
e)
Medicolegal opinions in criminal matters.
|
f)
Medicolegal opinions on material evidences brought by investigating
officers or referred from the hospital e.g. examination of weapons,
ligature materials, poisons etc.

g)
Crime scene investigations.

| The
department has one of the heaviest workloads in the city, examining
approximately 2000 medicolegal post mortem each year. Attending on an
average 3-4 interesting cases of clinical forensic medicine per week
where forensic expertise is required. |
