Residency
The department provides training for the following courses :
M.D. (General Medicine) :
Maharashtra University of Health Sciences - 3 year course (12-16 students /year )
D.N.B.E (Medicine) :
National Board of Examinations (3 year course)
While no separate admissions are made for the DNBE, residency in the Department of Medicine is recognised by the National Board of Examinations and students doing the MD course are eligible for appearing for the DNB examinations.
Admissions for MD are made twice a year - in February and July.

All residents registered for MD are enrolled into a 3 year residency
program which is as follows:
First Year :
| General Medicine - wards / OPD / Emergency ward : | 9 months |
| Medical Intensive Care Unit : | 3 months |
Second Year (sequence of posts may vary) :
| General Medicine or Allied post - Hematology : | 3 months |
| Allied post - Cardiology / ICCU : | 3 months |
| Allied post - Neurology : | 3 months |
| Senior resident - General Medicine : | 3 months |
Third Year :
| Senior resident - General Medicine : | 9 months |
| Senior resident - Medical Intensive Care Unit : | 3 months |
