Nominations for Awards and Prizes

1. Dr. Hardas Pathak Oration Award 2003 This award is given to a senior microbiologist in appreciation of his/her contribution in the field of microbiology as a lifetime achievement. The award is given to a person from Maharashtra or a Medical Microbiologist from India or abroad who has contributed to the development of the subject in Maharashtra in the field of research or training. Nomination to the award, duly proposed and seconded, with the consent from the nominee along with three copies of the nominees curriculum vitae and a brief summary of his / her contributions should reach the organizing secretary on / before 30th August, 2002. The award carries a medal and a cash prize of Rs.1000/-. The award winner has to deliver the oration at the 9th Maharashtra Chapter Conference of IAMM to be held during the year 2003.

2. Late Dr. P. M. Khare Junior best paper prize 2002. Nominations are invited for the late Dr. P. M. Khare junior best paper prize competition to be held at the 8th Maharashtra Chapter Conference of IAMM at Mumbai. Contestant must be below 35 years of age (Certificate showing proof Of age must be attached) and should be the principal author of the paper to be presented. The paper should be original and should not have been published / submitted for publication elsewhere. The declaration regarding its originality and three copies of the full text of the paper with tables, figures, references etc. prepared according to the format of manuscript for submission to Indian Journal of Medical Microbiology should reach the organizing secretary on or before 15th August, 2002.

The best competitors will be asked to present their papers to the audience and the panel of judges during the 8th Maharashtra Chapter Conference, Mumbai.

3. Junior best paper and poster prizes 2002. The organizing committee of the 8th Maharashtra Chapter Conference of IAMM will award two prizes for best oral presentation and best poster presentation from the papers and posters presented during the Conference.
