The Department provides
services for evaluation and management of clinical nephrology problems,
dialysis for patients with acute renal failure , acute drug intoxication/overdose
and acutely decompensated chronic renal failure patients . Maintenance
hemodialysis facilities exist for chronic renal failure patients awaiting
renal transplant but not for life long maintenance dialysis . Facilities
for renal biopsy, hemoperfusion, plasmafiltration / plasmapheresis, continuous
renal replacement therapy, also exist .
