Research

The department has Gynecologic and Obstetric Research Center, where a number of investigations can be done. It also has access to a large number of laboratories in the hospital, making advanced research possible. Clinical research is done on different aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology all round the year. There is a center of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the department, where clinical trials of ICMR are done. Clinical research is also done in association with other departments of the hospital, and institutes like Institute for Research in Reproduction.

A large number of drug trials are done in association with Pharmaceutical companies. All research activity is carried out only after approval from the Ethics Committee of the institute.
