| Pediatrics Paediatric EMS Services Started in October 2000, pediatric emergency department in the EMS building, is a hospital by itself with facilities for investigation & evaluation, resuscitation, ventilation, PICU care, laboratories, portable XRay and USG unit in EMS, situated at the ground floor Room no. 027. This department is manned by 2 pediatricians round the clock in rotation, all time and all days under supervision of professors and unit heads in rotation as per schedule. Daily turnover of pediatric emergencies here is 20-30 children. EMS has improved patient care by eliminating the delay in management. EMS has a ICU in itself, where patients waiting for PICU admissions can be managed with intensive monitoring and care including ventilator. Difficult cases are assessed by a senior pediatrician, as and when required. From EMS, patients are transferred to either ward or PICU.
