Residency:

The department provides training for the following courses:

(MS General surgery). University of Mumbai 3 year course. 12 candidates /year . All registered candidates are provided with residential quarters and are also assured residency postings for 3 years. Fourth year residency posts are advertised and applications are available at Hospital office, K E M Hospital, Parel, Mumbai 12 in month of Jan and Jul.

For the term beginning in Feb. 1999, the following registrations are available.
M.S. 8 registration (5 open merit, 3 reserved)

The residents are rotated to various units in the departments. During third post they attend the orthopaedics department for trauma services.

If possible they are also exposed to various superspecialities bu special terms during third term.
Post graduate students from other recognised hospitals are also allowed to work with prior permission.
