International Awards & Honours

  1. Prof.J.S.Kale, from Department of Occupational therapy Awarded the international award of 12,000 US $ for caregiver training in the field of hemophilia-by BAYER pharmaceuticals – (California USA.) –07.
  2. Dr. A. S. Balirsing (AP), from Department of Plastic Surgery was awarded best poster award at the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery meeting for the study: Sensory restoration of the skin graft on a free muscle flap: Clinical study.
  3. Anoop Dhamangaonkar of Final MBBS, has been awarded “Young Voices in Research for Health -2007” by the Global Forum for Health Research and the Lancet.
  4. RAHUL SALVI, 3 RD MBBS Student won first prize at an International conference for junior doctors and medical students in Poland , May 2007 where he presented his work “Study of extent of Off label use of drugs in Obstetrics in a Tertiary care hospital” under the joint supervision of Dr. AR Chauhan and Dr. NJ Gogtay, Clinical Pharmacology.
  5. First prize in the oral presentation category at the International Conference on “Contemporary issues and future challenges in drug development”, 5-7 Oct 2007, Mumbai, India. Organized by the South Asian chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology in collaboration with the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, India. (Title of paper- Evaluation of the prevalence and economic burden of adverse drug reactions presenting to the medical department of the Emergency Services of a tertiary referral centre.Authors- Kedia MS, Patel KJ, Bajpai D, Mehta SS, Kshirsagar NA, Gogtay NJ). The study was done in collaboration with the Division of Emergency Medical Services.
  6. Third prize in the poster presentation category at the International Conference on “Contemporary issues and future challenges in drug development”, 5-7 Oct 2007, Mumbai, India. Organized by the South Asian chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology in collaboration with the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, India. (Title of paper- Applications of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in patients with epilepsy and bipolar disorder.Authors-Kadam PP, Mhatre RB, Ravat SH, Parkar S, Kshirsagar NA, Gogtay NJ). The study was done in collaboration with the Department of Neurology.
  7. Dr Pinky Thapar lecturer in Department of Gen Surgery was recipient of Pune Gastroenterology Best paper award at the International College of Surgeons (ICS) Conference, Agra 2007 .
  8. Dr Avinash Supe, Professor and Head Department of surgical Gastroenterology, has been awarded with of IFME fellowship - USA

  1. Dr Prafull Kerkar Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology was awarded "Dr. A.P. Shukla memorial award" for rendering outstanding services to medical profession and society  at the 82nd annual conference of Indian Medical Association in Nagpur, December 2007 at Annual IMA conference, Nagpur in December 2007.
  2. Dr. Gayatri Nagpure – 3 rd Year Resident in the Department of Anesthesia was awarded the 2nd Prize for Poster – IACTA – February, 2007, entitled: “Comparison of plate let aggregability and plate let count in children v/s. adults undergoing Cardio Pulmonary Bypass”.
  3. Dr. Tapas Kumar Sahoo and Dr. Varsha Tapkir, Resident in the Department of Anesthesia were awarded B’ Braun Scholarship.
  4. Dr PJ Nathani, Professor of Cardiology appointed as a Section Editor in Cardiology for API Text book of Medicine.
  5. Dr Rachita Misri of Department of Dermatology was awarded A C Parekh award for Best study by the Indian Association of Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprology.

  7. Dr. Parvesh Jain senior Resident of Department of Gastroenterology received 3 rd prize for his project presented at the Annual conference at Bangalore November 2007.
