The department is actively involved in treating medically compromised patients. The department always tries updating its technology base to deliver the best and advanced treatment. The department conducted its second CDE program <strong>\u2018Dentistry &amp; Beyond\u2019<\/strong> as celebration of 90 years of KEM Hospital. The department has also started treating haemophilia patients and provides complete dental care to them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"classAnatomy3\">\n<h4>Faculty<\/h4>\n<p><b>Our present staff is as under :<\/b><\/p>\n<table style=\"height: 228px;\" border=\"1\" width=\"391\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Dr. Nanda Pai<\/td>\n<td>Addln. Professor<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Registrar<\/td>\n<td>5<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>House Officers<\/td>\n<td>3<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"classAnatomy4\">\n<h3>Facilities<\/h3>\n<p><b>ROUTINE MORNING OPD :<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approximately 150 patients are examined everyday.<\/li>\n<li>Patients from other departments are referred as well.<\/li>\n<li>Diagnostic Intraoral Radiography is done every day from 10.30 am to 11am with reporting done immediately on the same day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EXTRACTIONS &amp; MINOR SURGERIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Routine extractions are done under local anesthesia on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with appointments.<\/li>\n<li>Surgical extractions, extractions of medically compromised patients and minor surgeries are done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.<\/li>\n<li>Management of trauma cases and dento-alveolar fractures under local anesthesia.<\/li>\n<li>Patients needing Universal Precautions are taken up on Saturdays after routine work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MAJOR SURGERIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trauma<\/li>\n<li>Cysts and tumors<\/li>\n<li>TMJ Management<\/li>\n<li>Medically compromised cases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Are taken up under general anesthesia in the OT.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESTORATIVE, ENDODONTIC AND COSMETIC DENTISTRY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By appointments only.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Root canal therapy.<\/li>\n<li>Restorations with silver amalgam fillings,glass ionomer fillings.<\/li>\n<li>Aesthetic dentistry:Composite light cure fillings.<\/li>\n<li>Post root canal crowns and bridges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ON CALL DUTIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The senior faculty attend calls from Telemedicine.<\/li>\n<li>The Registrars and House Officers attend to dental calls from the ward regularly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>COMMUNITY DENTAL CARE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Reaches to the need of students from Municipal School clinic by creating awareness of oral health and maintaining oral hygiene.<br \/>\n\u2022 Counselling parents with their children as regards maintenance of oral health.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstration of Brushing Techniques.<br \/>\n\u2022 Create awareness in patients about side effects of tobacco, gutka and paan.<br \/>\n\u2022 Held a camp for check-up &amp;
