To promote excellence in Patient care, Education & Research<\/p>\r\n

Physical therapy provides services to individuals to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the life span. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, pain, disease, disorders, conditions, or environmental factors. Functional movement is central to what it means to be healthy.<\/p>\r\n

Physical therapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment, habilitation, and rehabilitation.<\/p>\r\n

Physical therapists are qualified and professionally required to:<\/p>\r\n

-Undertake a comprehensive examination\/assessment of the patient\/ client or needs of the client group.<\/p>\r\n

– Evaluate the findings of the assessment to make a clinical judgment regarding the patients\/clients.<\/p>\r\n

– Formulate a diagnosis, prognosis and determine when patients\/clients need to be referred to another health care professional.<\/p>\r\n

– Implement a physical therapy intervention\/treatment program<\/p>\r\n

– Determine the outcome of any intervention\/treatments.<\/p>\r\n

– Make recommendations for self-management.<\/p>\r\n
